Carolina Camargo

Biologist, Ph.D. Entomology leader.

Biologist with a PhD in entomology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, with a postdoctoral degree at the University of Florida in the United States. She has experience in biological control and molecular techniques for controlling insects in different crops in the United States and Colombia. She is currently the leader of the entomology group in Cenicaña.

Claudia Echevarri

Biologist, MSc.

Biologist from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, with a Master's degree in Agricultural Sciences in the field of crop protection from the National University of Colombia. She has experience in entomological research focused on the integrated management of pest insects, insect breeding and development of the method to characterize the resistance of sugarcane varieties against the Diatraea.

Viviana Marcela Aya

Biologist

Biologist from the Universidad del Valle. Her professional career includes the study of life cycles of parasitoids of Diatraea spp. as well as morphological and molecular identification work on pests of importance to the industry. Currently he is investigating the endophytic potential of entomopathogenic fungi, as an alternative for the control of insect pests and diseases in sugarcane.

Gerson Ramirez

Agricultural engineer

Agricultural engineer, graduated from the National University of Colombia, Palmira campus. With experience in integrated pest management, with a focus on the development of strategies for the monitoring and implementation of biological controllers, use of biological alternatives (fungi and entomopathogenic nematodes), chemicals and cultural practices that mitigate the establishment of pest insects in the cultivation of sugar cane.
