Performing the water balance using accumulated values of evaporation and precipitation for weekly periods (7 days) is very well adapted to places where there is no computer available to keep the water balance systematized.
In general, irrigation programming decisions for the following week are made on Thursday or Friday; to perform the balance, the accumulated values of precipitation (P), irrigation (R) and evapotranspiration (Et) of the previous seven days are used, as well as the value of the sheet of water in the soil (LAS) of the day prior to the moment in which the recording of the week starts (t).
