Stem

Average height between 2-2.6 m, erect, with a gently zigzag arrangement of internodes. Internode: Curved, 13 cm long and 26.5-29.6 mm in diameter. Purplish-green when not exposed to sunlight and yellowish-purple when exposed. It has little wax and a smooth bud canal. Node: It has a growth ring with moderate prominence. Bud: Round and occasionally extending beyond the growth ring.

Average length 13 cm, width 5.3 cm, curved tip. Yagua: Purple-green in color with abundant dorsal fuzz. Auricle: Falcata, asymmetrical; shedding is natural.
