Sugarcane seedbeds

The development and production of commercial plantations depend largely on the quality of the seed used for the establishment of the crop. The requirements for obtaining high quality seed are as follows: high genetic purity of the variety, free of pathogens, low or no incidence of Diatraea spp., From seedlings treated with hot water, seedlings of first or second cut, optimum age of cut between 7 and 9 months and disinfestation of cutting tools (machetes) with Aviyodox 2% or Vanodine 2%.
