Purpose:
Responsible for supporting efficient planning and integrated management of water resources. Its main functions include carrying out irrigation quality and efficiency tests, under the administrative irrigation control (CAR) methodology and timely programming, gathering information in the field to generate detailed diagnoses of water use at the farm level, and implementing hydrological monitoring systems in the intervention area and area of interest of the project. In addition, it will lead training activities for field staff within the framework of administrative irrigation control, contributing to the sustainable and efficient use of water in sugarcane crops.
Training and experience
Agricultural or environmental engineer or related career, recent graduate.
Minimum 6 months of certified experience as a professional in research teams, research assistant, research assistant.
Knowledge in:
- Handling geographic information system tools
- Computer tools and intermediate Excel
- Knowledge in water quality
- Database management
- Implement property diagnostic tools
Others:
- Availability for field work and travel in the production area in Valle del Cauca
- Ease of interacting and transferring technical knowledge to different agroindustry actors including farmers, technical personnel and researchers.
