An initial fixed-term contract.
Purpose of the charge
Develop and execute laboratory techniques and analyses for the microbiological analysis of soils, organic fertilizers, and biofertilizers within the Nutrition and Fertility area of the Agronomy research program. These analyses are aimed at providing timely solutions to needs that contribute to the knowledge and criteria for the health and quality of soils and organic fertilizers in the sugarcane agroindustrial sector.
Training and experience:
- Biotechnology Process Technologist. Technologist in bioprocess analysis, quality control, and related fields with at least six months of relevant work experience.
- Microbiology and biotechnology laboratory technician with a minimum of two years of work experience related to the position.
- Work experience in microbiology and biotechnology laboratories. Experience in environmental microbiology and molecular biology laboratory techniques is preferred.
Technical knowledge in:
- Good laboratory practices (sterilization, solution preparation, preparation of culture media, inoculation of microorganisms, microorganism counting techniques, handling of equipment and laboratory elements).
- DNA extractions and PCR.
- Basic handling of office tools (Word, Excel).
- Proper use of personal protective equipment.

General Information
- Work hours: Monday to Friday from 7:00 am – 4:00 pm
- Includes transportation en route from Cali or Palmira to the experimental station
