No. 1 March
Alternate furrow irrigation consists of placing water in every other furrow. In this way, with the same amount of water used for conventional continuous furrow irrigation, an area twice as large can be covered. For alternate furrow irrigation, it is not necessary to make any changes to the field infrastructure, since the conditions are the same as those required for continuous furrow irrigation. Alternate furrow irrigation allows for a reduction in the amount of water used in sugarcane irrigation, while also increasing operational efficiency in the execution of this task. |
