Introduction

Sugarcane productivity is built upon the interaction between genetics, environment, and management; agronomy is the science that allows for the efficient application of this interaction in the field. Achieving high productivity per hectare depends on the balance between the components that determine it: the stalk population, individual stalk weight, and sucrose accumulation.

Are we ready to be highly productive?

Integrated management of the plant-soil-water system, along with weed, pest, and disease control, balanced nutrition, and the application of biostimulants and physiological regulators, optimizes crop performance and sustainability. Digital tools improve monitoring and decision-making accuracy, while timely harvesting contributes to consolidating production results and final quality. Throughout this series, we will see how efficient agronomic management drives higher tonnage of sugarcane per hectare (TCH) and greater sucrose accumulation.
