Biological and ecosystem characterization of the reserve
93% of the flora of the reserve is native. 198 species of plants were recorded. 8 threatened:
- Wax palm (Ceroxylun Quindiuense)
- Palm grinder (Chamaedorea pinnatifrons)
- Fish tail (Chamaedorea linearis)
- Black cedar (neotropical jungles)
- Pink Cedar (mountain cedrela)
- Orchid (Masdevalia trochilus)
- Bromeliad (tillansia biflora)
- Mountain curubo (Mixed passiflora)
120 species of birds were recorded. 3 of them threatened:
- Red partridge (Odontophorus hyperythrus)
- Guacharaca (Columbiana ortalis)
- Scarlet-fronted parakeetpsittacara wagleri)
