Introduction

Mechanical harvesting of sugarcane in the Cauca River Valley reached 83% of the harvested area in 2024. Achieving an operation that maintains a balance between efficiency and the quality of the raw material collected is a challenge that demands the implementation of optimal practices that integrate field design and conditions with the appropriate use of technologies that contribute to the care of the crop, the environment, and, especially, the saccharose contained in the chopped cane.
