Energy efficiency. EfEnerg | M1.

9 July 2020 | 9:00 am - 10:30 am

During the Webinar, we will talk about:

Decision criteria and main operating practices that allow the participant to have an understanding of the implications that process modifications have on energy efficiency, both in terms of thermal and electrical energy in the sugar and alcohol production process.

In this event we will address Module 1 (M1) of the virtual training: Criteria for increasing the energy efficiency of sugar and alcohol production. (The short title of this training is Energy Efficiency or EfEnerg).

Start date and time: 09 Jul 2020 | 9:00 am. Cali, Colombia. (UTC -5)

Duration: 90 minutes (webinar)

Addressed to: Supervisors and operating personnel of the sugar mills.

Learning objectives:

At the end of Module 1 (M1) participants will be able to:

  • Identify the impact of technological changes on thermal and electrical energy efficiency in the sugar and alcohol production process.
  • Determine the main operating practices and decision criteria that impact the energy efficiency of the sugar and alcohol production process.

Content:

The full content of the training is:

  • M1: Impact of the technological component on the generation and consumption of energy in the sugar and alcohol production process (Jul 09, 2020).
  1. How do different factory configurations affect energy generation and consumption?
  2. How is energy consumption distributed in the sugar and alcohol production process ?: main energy consumers
  3. What is the impact of the main technologies on energy efficiency?
  4. Case studies of Technological improvements and their impact on energy efficiency
  • M2: Impact of decisions and operating practices on energy generation and consumption in the sugar and alcohol production process (Jul 16, 2020).
  1. Is the technology enough? Can variability or operating practices affect energy efficiency?
  2. Main operating factors and decisions that affect energy efficiency
  3. Some operating practices that favor energy efficiency
  4. Study cases

Comment:

The use of a laptop or desktop computer is recommended to develop each workshop. For the OnLine events where the contents of each module are presented, the Participant can connect from any device, including by cell phone (mobile phone).
