Transfer and promotion of Sef version 3.0
With the main objective of promoting the adoption and unifying the technical concepts related to the use of the Fertilization Expert System (Sef version 3.0), two training days were held at the María Luisa and Castilla sugar mills.
The workshops focused on operating the tool and reviewing basic nutrition and fertilization concepts. The Expert Fertilization System facilitates the accurate interpretation of soil analyses and decision-making, optimizing fertilization by considering variables such as yield potential and nutrient uptake by variety, thus encouraging the correct and rational use of fertilizers.

International technical exchange Cenicaña – ALUR (Uruguay): sustainability and technology
Cenicaña and ALUR (Alcoholes del Uruguay SA), with the support of the NGO Solidaridad, conducted a virtual international technical exchange, with the participation of ALUR field professionals and Cenicaña professionals. The main objective was to strengthen international cooperation and mutual learning.
Cenicaña shared its technological advancements in crop management (irrigation, fertilization) and the sustainability and carbon footprint initiatives developed in the sector. In turn, ALUR presented its production overview and sustainability model with its producers.
These types of meetings seek to promote the transformation of scientific and technical knowledge into applied solutions, directly impacting productivity and innovation in the sugarcane agro-industry.

Carbon footprint quantification training for small producers
A theoretical and practical training session was held at the El Pencil Production Unit, aimed at small-scale farmers from the Manuelita Sugar Mill. The main objective was to strengthen the producers' capacity to understand climate variability and quantify the carbon footprint of sugarcane cultivation.
The day focused on socializing the concept of carbon footprint, its calculation methodology and sectoral reference values, as well as facilitating the appropriation of tools and formats developed by Cenicaña for the collection of data in the field.
This activity seeks to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions and position the sector in environmentally sustainable practices.

Drops: training in application management and rain gauge maintenance
A technical-practical training day was held, "Drops: Management and Maintenance", aimed at attendees, including supervisors, water resources assistants and operational staff from the La Burrera, Cantarrana, Venecia, Esperanza, San Pablo, Petite and Pichindé farms.
The main objective was to strengthen technical skills for the interpretation of hydrometeorological data provided by the Gotas application, as well as to standardize the preventive maintenance protocol for rain gauges.
This activity guarantees the integrity of primary field data capture, allowing the technological processing of the water balance to be an accurate tool for operational decision-making in sugarcane cultivation.

Drops: training in application management and rain gauge maintenance
A theoretical and practical workshop on gravity irrigation (open canal and pipe with windows) and Irrigation Management Control (IMC) was held. The activity, part of the Amaime River basin water management project, was attended by technical staff and operators.
The main objective was to strengthen capacities for efficient resource management through instruction in soil moisture concepts (saturation, field capacity, and permanent wilting point) and the execution of precision measurements. During the field phase, the installation and use of the RBC channel and volumetric flow measurement for furrow and irrigation front measurements were standardized.
These technologies allow for the accurate determination of the volume of water applied per hectare, optimizing decision-making to reduce losses and improve efficiency and sustainability in sugarcane cultivation.
