Training in Water Balance and Drops

The event brought together professionals CIAT, responsible for sugarcane management, as well as experts in the improvement of other crops such as rice, cassava, and beans. Fundamental concepts for calculating water balance were addressed, including field capacity, permanent wilting point, crop water requirement, and the rapidly available water table (RAW). Additionally, a presentation was made Gotas, the network of automated rain gauges for the sugarcane agroindustry in Colombia, which provides detailed and accurate precipitation information in real time. The main objective was to provide professionals with the necessary tools to schedule irrigation in a timely manner, effectively meeting crop water needs.

Training in field conditions for a quality and efficient harvest

The main objective of this day was to offer Up-to-date information on ideal conditions to optimize the efficiency and quality of mechanical harvesting. Aimed at field management professionals, zone managers, supply staff, and AP professionals at the mill. Key topics covered included base cutting ratios based on furrow formation to minimize stump damage, the efficient use of different types of blades for base cutting, equipment tire configuration to reduce vine trampling, and best practices for maintaining ideal furrow formation. This initiative reinforces Cenicaña's commitment to excellence in sugarcane farming operations.

Training in integrated management of spittlebugs

This event brought together field staff and producers from the sugar mill's supplier properties. The main objective was to strengthen knowledge in the identification and control This pest has a high economic impact on sugarcane crops. During the session, strategies for using traps to monitor and control spittlebugs were discussed, as well as various management methods, providing practical tools to mitigate its effects and protect crop productivity.
