This document lists the production results obtained during 1997 by the sugar industry located in the valleys of the Cauca and Risaralda rivers (Colombia). The information corresponds to the cane harvested, both on own lands and those directly managed, as well as on lands of independent growers, and ground by the Risaralda, Riopaila, Sancarlos, Pichichí, Providencia, Manuelita, Tumaco, Mayagüez, Castilla, Incauca and La Cabaña mills.
The analysis presents trends in the main indicators of physical field productivity and commercial sugar recovery, in order to document the level and variability of such productivity in 1997 and to provide a reference point for the analysis of particular situations in the productive units of the sugar business.
The statistical data from which the corresponding analysis was carried out are included as Annexes.
