The climate during 2015 in the Cauca River Valley has been and will continue to be influenced by El Niño present in the equatorial Pacific Ocean since October 2014.

The low rainy seasons of the middle and end of the year and the beginning of 2016 will present, with respect to the usual, low or very low values ​​of precipitation (30% - 70%), days with rain (40% - 80%) and humidity of the air (80% -90%). High or very high values ​​of solar radiation and evaporation (110% -120%) and mean maximum temperature and mean daily temperature fluctuation (1.0 ° C -1.5 ° C) will also be recorded.

For the high rainy season of the second semester, the atmospheric variables will register changes in the same direction, but of lesser magnitude: precipitation (50% - 80%), days with rain (60% -80%), relative air humidity (90% -95%), solar radiation and evaporation (105% - 110%) and average maximum temperature and average daily temperature fluctuation (0.5 ° C - 1.0 ° C).
