During the event we will talk about:

The impact of critical impurities on the efficiency of the sugar manufacturing process. Addressing the origin and concentration of these in the process materials, the main effects observed in the sector and some perspectives of the promising mitigation alternatives.

  • Enlighten attendees in the main critical impurities present in the process materials, effects associated with them and existing mitigation opportunities.

  • Effects on the manufacturing process of sugar production.

Facilitators:

Andrea Agudelo Cifuentes

Chemical engineer graduated from the University of Antioquia with 3 years
of experience in the agro-industrial sector of sugar cane. In
Cenicaña participates in research projects aimed at improving
on the efficiency of the crystallization stage and alternatives for the
reduction of energy consumption in the factory.

Lina Marcela Arevalo

Chemical Engineer and Master in Chemical Product Formulation.
With 8 years of experience in the agro-industrial sector of cane
sugar. In Cenicaña he leads research projects aimed at
develop strategies to increase the recovery of
sucrose in the factory and control undetermined losses in the factory.
