Technical training: administrative control of water resources
At the La Cabaña Estate of the Manuelita Sugar Mill, a theoretical-practical workshop on irrigation and Administrative Control of Irrigation was held, within the framework of the project in the Amaime River basin.
The activity was aimed at technical staff (stewards) and irrigation operators (irrigators). The main objective was to strengthen capacities in the efficient management of water resources and to initiate awareness of best practices.
The theoretical part covered key technical concepts, including soil moisture (saturation, field capacity, and permanent wilting pointThe practical phase included the installation and use of the RBC flume to measure furrow flow and the application of the volumetric method for flow measurement at the window. The presentation of the volumetric method as a supporting technology aims to improve water use efficiency by optimizing its application, reducing losses, and promoting the sustainable management of water resources.
