Benefits of Using Intelligent/Autonomous Systems in CASE IH Austoft 8810, 9900 and JOHN DEERE CH570 Harvesters in Sugarcane Harvesting.

Annual reports

In-person event.

Goal

Strengthening the technical capabilities of the staff and promoting the correct use of intelligent systems, contributing to operational efficiency, crop protection, environmental sustainability and the preservation of the sucrose contained in the chopped cane.

Within the framework of the CATE Phase II macro-project, training was conducted on the benefits of using Intelligent systems in sugarcane harvesters, based on technical and economic evaluations developed in the Cauca Valley river area.

The results of these evaluations were presented, focused on analyzing the impact of these technologies on cutting quality, collection efficiency, fuel consumption and automation of key functions, reducing operator dependence.
Systems such as Smart Cruise, Auto Turn, Auto Float and Auto Tracker (CASE) were reviewed, as well as Field Cruise, HMS, CICB and Smart Clean (JOHN DEERE).

Key themes and results: The appropriate use of intelligent systems in sugarcane harvesters marks the future towards a more efficient and sustainable operation, offering key benefits such as:

  • Automatic Cutting Height Control: Improves cutting quality and reduces mineral foreign matter.
  • Crop Divider Adjustment: Reduces the amount of cane left in the field due to stems longer than 50 cm.
  • Headland Management System: Automates maneuvers and reduces fuel consumption.
  • Intelligent Engine Tuning: Optimizes consumption and generates fuel savings.
  • Intelligent Cleaning System: Improves the separation of foreign matter and reduces the cane expelled by the primary extract.

With the participation of analysts and harvest leaders.
