2015 Calendar for the handling of packaging and packaging of agrochemicals

The Colombian sugar sector has four collection centers to receive the containers, packaging and packaging that remain after the application of agrochemicals in the cultivation of sugarcane in the Cauca river valley.

Please note that for the delivery of the material you must follow the following instructions:

Triple wash

The objective of triple washing is to remove product residues that remain on the walls of agrochemical packaging. The personnel who carry out this work must use the safety and protection elements indicated in the pictograms that appear on the product label, such as the waterproof suit or long plastic apron, nitrile gloves, visor, rubber boots, gas mask agrochemicals, among others.

Vacate the container completely until all the product content is poured into the tank you are using to prepare the mixture.

Add clean water until occupying a quarter of the volume of the container and cover it well.

Shake strongly horizontally and vertically.

Pour the rinse in the mixing tank. Add water again and repeat the steps until the triple wash is complete.

Disable the container to prevent re-employment. Drill or cut the material and separate the lid and the metal security ring of the container to prevent the gases or vapors of agrochemicals from remaining in the container and being sucked up by the people in charge of receiving and crushing them in the collection centers.

Gathering

After performing the triple wash and rendering the material unusable, take it to the collection centers on the established dates, with a referral, in original and copy, detailing:

  • Deadline
  • Name of the person responsible for delivery
  • Name of the farm or company
  • Number of containers or packages delivered (indicate volume and brand of each product)
  • Plate of the vehicle in which the material was transported.

In the collection centers, only the containers and packages are received from companies linked to both the Campo Limpio Corporation and the Bioentorno and Collection Foundation, which correspond to products used in the cultivation of sugar cane.

The Colombian sugar sector in association with the Campo Limpio Corporation, the Bioentorno Foundation and the Colecta company, coordinate the management program for the containers, packages and packaging that remain after the application of agrochemicals in the cultivation of sugar cane in the Cauca river valley.
